Superhero capes!

I wanted to make something fun for my toddler age niece and my friends son whom I consider a nephew. The Super Why show is popular for their age and I know my niece loves dress up so I decided to make superhero capes. I made a template and cut out two sides to sew together. 
The first one I made has red fleece for the inner lining, which is what many tutorials recommended. 
My niece likes more 'girly' dress up, but I didn't have any satin like material in pink so I did a silver lining. I decided to make it reversible with a pink letter. I wish I'd done the same on the first one, as I think it looks better than the fleece. 
I sewed the opposite sides of all but the tops, then turned them inside out and pressed the edges. I added ribbon on each side when sewing the top. I wanted to personalize them so I cut round pieces of fleece then cut letters to see on. An appliqué would have been much easier. I'm happy with them though, and I can't wait to get pictures of them on!

DIY Halloween Costumes- Isabela from Encanto

I found a ton of cute lavender dresses a’la Isabela from Encanto. I started with tulle to give the princess feel, and also included more comfortable options. You can get away with just the flower behind your ear, but I think the added ones throughout the hair are more Isabela. DIY Halloween Costumes - Harley Quinn

I loooove that red dress from Suicide Squad 2. The only place that made the costume version in my size was Hot Topic/Her Universe, but It was already sold out by the time I saw the movie. Since the movie came out, I randomly scour the web for dresses that would work for it. Shein just came out with some!
