Oil Pulling - Does it work?

The newest health trend derives from India where oil pulling is used for a variety of health reasons. The idea is to swish oil in your mouth for 10-15 minutes each day and the oil pulls bacteria from your mouth that absorbs into it and is released from your body with the oil when you spit it out. Recent studies have shown that using organic sesame oil for this for a month reduces bacteria in your mouth by 40% and coconut oil by 20%. Using sesame oil as an oral health agent helps to reduce the amount of S. mutans (germ) count in both teeth plaque and mouth saliva. Scientists believe that the lipids in the oil both pull out bacteria, as well as stop bacterial from sticking to the walls of the oral cavity.

Benefits include:

        •      Prevention for bad breath
        •       Prevention of diseases of the gums and mouth, such as cavities and gingivitis
Strengthening your teeth, gums and jaws
Prevention of dryness of the lips, mouth and throat
Possible holistic treatment for TMJ and general soreness in the jaw area
        Migraine headache relief
Reduces the symptoms of allergies
May reduce symptoms of bronchitis
Helps support normal kidney function
May help reduce sinus congestion Reducing inflammation of arthritis

        •       Helps reduce insomnia

Dentists way in

Does it work? Well i'll just have to try it for a month and see.

Day 1: Yuck. I had to distract myself somehow to keep the oil in my mouth for the alloted time so I took a tablespoon of sesame oil and took a shower while swishing it in my mouth. When spitting it out, it looked darker and gave me the same amount of satisfaction I have when emptying dirty water from my carpet cleaner. My teeth felt very smooth as if I had just left the dentist! The taste of the oil stayed in my mouth for maybe 20 minutes until I ate a mint. My teeth stayed smooth into day 2, though.

DIY Halloween Costumes- Isabela from Encanto

I found a ton of cute lavender dresses a’la Isabela from Encanto. I started with tulle to give the princess feel, and also included more comfortable options. You can get away with just the flower behind your ear, but I think the added ones throughout the hair are more Isabela. I added two options, but Shein does have many options for hair flowers.  Oh and use my  code  at Shein for 10% off your order! The first 3 dresses are Shein sizes  2-12.  This first dress definitely will make you feel like a princess! These shoes are the most accurate to the cosplay as well. Tulle Dress   Mary Jane Ballet Flats     Large Flower hair clips   Small Flower hair clips Dress option 2 is more casual and looks so comfy. You could wear this more often after displaying. As it’s more casual, I also added more casual flats.    Off Shoulder Ruffle Dress   Lavender Flats   2nd Option mini flower hair clips   Large Flower hair clips Hallowee...

How to turn an in wall ironing board into shelving

My bedroom has had an in wall ironing board since I got this house. I hated it. It is directly behind the bedroom door so if you take the board out, noone can get in or out of the room.  My husband irons his work shirts in the morning, but never used that board. We have a full sized ironing board by the laundry room. If he used the wall board I would have burn marks from running into a hot iron while trying to do my makeup. It's frustrated me that it was just wasted space. It's right next to our dresser and a convenient place to store makeup and hair products. I asked my hubby for shelving to clear up space on the dresser.  To remove the board, he removed the screws from the bar then pulled the bar out of the wall. He used wood filler to patch the holes from the bar.  In retrospect he wishes he'd just sawed the bar off instead. He painted the inside and cut shelves to fit.  For the background we used scrapbook paper. I was not willi...
